“That’s Just Wrong!” Dept 13 Films
Written/directed by Joe Christ
Produced by Joe Christ & Herb Henderson
Starring - Joe Christ, Little Sebastien, Dolores French, Nancy A Collins
Music by - Gargantua, D'Hiver Mort, Los Reactors, [zarbizarre], Joe Christ
From the press-release:
After almost two decades of touring the US with his super-low-budget short movies, underground director/writer/actor JOE CHRIST will host a local (Atlanta) premiere of his first full-length production – “THAT’S JUST WRONG!” at SMITH'S OLDE BAR - 1578 Piedmont Ave (404-875-1522) on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 1st for an EARLY SHOW at 6PM sharp. Shot and edited by co-producer HERB HENDERSON of DEPT 13 FILMS (the company that releases Christ’s work on DVD), “THAT’S JUST WRONG!” marks JOE CHRIST’s move into the world of feature movies, with special effects and production values not seen in his previous work. Imagine...JOE CHRIST with a budget...
“THAT’S JUST WRONG!” is a “love story” about a predatory stalker (JOE CHRIST) who moves into the suburban Atlanta townhouse of his victim (pinup model LITTLE SEBASTIEN), making himself totally at home. As things progress, the bizarre dynamic between the uninvited houseguest and his unwilling roommate swings back and forth, and things get kind of weird...no, make that really weird. Before long, a relationship develops between the pair that takes “Stockholm syndrome” to new and hilarious extremes. Horror author NANCY A COLLINS appears as an annoying door-to-door preacher, and world-renowned prostitute/author DOLORES FRENCH is seen as a sleazy bar-owner. One of the amusing special effects in “THAT’S JUST WRONG!” is the narrator: a bug-eyed, foul-mouthed, talking Boston Terrier (SCRAPPLE) who twitches and wise-cracks his way through the seventy-five minute flick.
JOE CHRIST will be present to introduce the movie, and after the screening will be around to mingle with members of the audience. Most of the other cast members will be present, as well. | | Friday, September 2nd, 2005 | | 2:04 pm |

Dallas, Houston, Tulsa shows Now that it's finished, I'll be taking my new feature movie "That's Just Wrong!" out for screenings, starting with a few shows in Texas and Oklahoma.

Playing in Los Reactors Friday Night in NYC The Dot Dash Festival is this weekend (Thursday through Saturday nights), so I'd like to remind everyone that I'll be playing and singing in Los Reactors as we headline the Friday night roster. Come out to see us at Southpaw (125 Fifth Ave, Brooklyn). Doors open at 8:30 PM...we're going on late in the evening.
We got a pretty good digital recording of the Los Reactors reunion show in Tulsa a few weeks back, and we'll be recording the show in New York, as well. There are over a dozen songs that weren't on the original RaveUp/Ripoff "Dead In The Suburbs" releases...perhaps another album could be the result.
Meanwhile...my new CD, "Essential Christ" is in stores now. | | Friday, July 15th, 2005 | | 3:30 pm |
New CD Hit The Stores This Week Essential Christ, my new CD release from Long Live Crime Records, has hit the stores as of this week. It contains songs that I recorded in 1984-1993, with bands I'd put together after I left Los Reactors.
Essential Christ is available in Tower and Virgin stores nationwide, in regional chains like Plan 9 (Virginia), Newbury Comics (New England), Bull Moose Music (New England), Hastings, CD Warehouse, Record Time (Detroit area) as well as indie stores all over the US.

Just got back to Atlanta a few days ago, after the big trip to Dallas and Tulsa. Regina hd_amazon and I went to my younger son's high-school graduation in Texas on May 29th, and stayed in the home of our good friends Brindle brindle and Mark poisonkitty. Mary Leohr, who has starred in 3 of my movies, spent a lot of time hanging out with us. We hung around for a few days, then drove up to Oklahoma so I could rehearse and do a show with Los Reactors.
I hadn't even touched a musical instrument in almost 10 years, but after a couple of rehearsals it was like riding a bike. We rehearsed for 4 days, then did the show this past Saturday night, with Billy Joe Winghead opening.
The gig went very well. The room was packed with lots of people, including many folks I hadn't seen since I moved away in 1983. We sold out of T-shirts, CDs, as well as DVDs of my movies. Screamin' Steven of Billy Joe Winghead snapped a bunch of photos:

Thanks to everyone who helped make the trip a major success: Brindle, Mark, Mary, Wilhelm, Andy, Roger, Darrell, Tommy, Steve...and to everyone who came out to see and hear us. | | Monday, May 16th, 2005 | | 8:24 am |
Los Reactors Shows...Current Movie Update The Los Reactors reunion shows will take place:
Saturday, June 4th @ The Venue - TULSA OK
Friday, July 22nd @ Southpaw - BROOKLYN NY (Headlining one night of the 3-night "DotDash Festival")
Meanwhile, Herb Henderson of Dept 13 Films and I have plowed through the editing of a large segment of my current movie, "That's Just Wrong!". It's looking like this will be my first feature-length film, which means that Volume 3 of my DVD series will be a 2-disk package, so the "boxed set" of Volumes 1-3 will actually contain 4 disks.

Los Reactors...Adult Videos...New CD & DVD As usual, the more I have going on in my life, the less time I have to post about it all here.
I've been working with Ron Royster of Eroticist Films, taking over the producer's duties to help Ron finish two adult movies he directed for Adam & Eve video.
In the meantime, post-production on my latest movie, "That's Just Wrong!", continues as Herb Henderson plows through the many, many hours of footage we shot last year. The movie will come out on my third DVD from Dept 13 Films sometime later this month.
My new CD from Long Live Crime Records is on track for an early June release. The title of the CD is "Essential Christ", and it contains music I recorded in the 1980's & 1990's.
I guess the big news at the moment is the Los Reactors reunion. I was a member of this band in Tulsa the early 1980's, and we had a re-issue CD come out this past September. Now we're booked to play a couple of reunion shows:
Saturday, June 4th in Tulsa and Friday, July 22nd in New York
I'll post the venues, times, etc, as soon as I know more. | | Tuesday, March 15th, 2005 | | 3:02 pm |
Commercial For DVDs in NYC & LA We've added another week in NYC for the 30-second commercial spot for my DVDs to run, starting tonight, and starting tomorrow night, it begins it's run in Los Angeles.
If you live in Manhattan or in LA between downtown and the ocean, here's when to look for the ad:
Tonight on Adult Swim, tomorrow night on Comedy Central, Thursday night on Adult Swim, then Friday and Saturday nights on Comedy Central. It'll be running once per hour between Midnight and 3AM on each night.
Also, Consumption Junction has posted the original "uncensored" version on their video page.
Incidentally...you can order my DVDs directly from me by going to www.joechrist.com | | Wednesday, March 9th, 2005 | | 7:21 pm |
Commercial In NYC & LA My 30-second commercial spot is currently running three times per night (between midnight and 3AM) in Manhattan on Comedy Central and Adult Swim. It'll run for the next week. Then, starting a week from tonight, it'll be airing in Los Angeles on the same schedule, in the area bounded by Downtown on the East, I-10 on the South, the Pacific Ocean on the West, and the Santa Monica Mtns on the North.
So far, so good...getting some calls, making some sales. If all continues to go well, the campaign will move on to the next cities: Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago. | | Sunday, February 27th, 2005 | | 3:19 pm |
Wrap Party...Cable Commercial Update Regina</a></a> hd_amazon and I held the wrap party last week to celebrate the completion of principal photography for my new movie "That's Just Wrong!" and also the 30-second commercial spot for my DVDs which will be running late at night on cable in several cities soon. Many of the cast & crew members showed up, including Little Sebastien</a></a> littlesebastien who brought Brody</a></a> broddhisatva with her; Dolores French; Nancy Collins</a></a> heart8 brought Scrapple the Boston Terrier, Jeff</a></a> syntherzukal and Laura Morris</a></a> cultessalura; Tonya Fowler</a></a> bonnie_bara who drove down from South Carolina with Richie</a></a> saint_ama ; Herb Henderson</a></a> dept13 from Dept 13 Films, along with numerous other friends and associates. Underground comix guru Skip Williamson arrived with a friend, followed by Gary Hasty</a></a> revhasty of WeirdAssShit.com, filmmaker Tom Chadouin, and later Jonathan Williams of Prick Magazine and Access Atlanta brought his wife. Before the night was over, Aria</a></a> blissful_kaos showed up with her friend Craig. I'd made a huge crockpot of chili, and of course there was plenty of other food and booze, etc. A good time was had by all...at least I'm pretty certain of that.
Meanwhile, my 30-second commercial spot was rejected as "offensive" by the Atlanta Comcast standards office...so, a slightly revised version will start first in NYC on March 8th, followed by a week in Los Angeles, then the new version will be re-submitted locally through an agency.
Here are the 2 versions:
The "OFFENSIVE" ORIGINAL VERSION
The "NON-OFFENSIVE" REVISED VERSION

Commercial For DVDs Ready To Go Last Friday I brought Aria</a></a> blissful_kaos over to the Dept 13 studio, where we shot the 30-second commercial spot for my DVDs. Co-producer Herb Henderson</a></a> dept13 worked his magic and we ended up with a pretty slick little ad, which I'll be delivering early next week to the Comcast sales rep, for scheduling in the Atlanta area. Dolores French dropped by to watch while we worked, and ultimately we finished shooting, editing, adding titles and music within 6 hours.
Aria and I each have a couple of lines in the commercial, which mostly utilizes short clips from the movies.
The ad will run in several different zones in the Atlanta area for 5 weeks and since I was able to accomplish "Phase One" well within my budget, it'll definitely be going on to Dallas and New York (Lower Manhattan) after the Atlanta campaign. Other cities to follow: Houston and Denver...then Chicago and Philadelphia...more later. | | Monday, January 31st, 2005 | | 12:43 pm |
Cable Ad Shoot This Friday This coming Friday I'll be going to the Dept 13 studio where Herb Henderson</a></a> dept13 and I will shoot and edit a 30-second commercial for my DVDs. The ad will air on cable in the Atlanta area in a few weeks, and if all goes well (i.e., enough sales to justify it) it will also air the following month in Dallas and Manhattan. I'll be in the commercial, along with my good friend Aria</a></a> blissful_kaos, and music by [zarbizarre], with lots of quick clips from several of my movies.
I'll post after we're finished, and also to announce when it will be on the air. | | Friday, January 28th, 2005 | | 1:14 am |

Song From LOS REACTORS CD Here's a tune from the LOS REACTORS "Dead In The Suburbs" CD, recently released from Ripoff Records.
The song is called "Pregnant Girls" and was recorded in December of 1980. It came out on the B-side of the 3-song 7-inch "Dead In The Suburbs" ep (Cynykyl Records) in the spring of 1981. Later the song appeared on the "Dead In The Suburbs" album released by Rave Up Records in 2001.</font>
I wrote the song, sang it and played the Farfisa organ. The rest of the personnel on the recording: Roger Scott - guitar. Tommy Waggoner - bass. Darrell Smith - drums.</font>

You can order the Los Reactors CD directly from me by sending $15 via PAY PAL to flamingauto@yahoo.com </font> Current Music: Los Reactors - "Pregnant Girls" |
