Dallas, Houston, Tulsa shows

Now that it's finished, I'll be taking my new feature movie "That's Just Wrong!" out for screenings, starting with a few shows in Texas and Oklahoma.

“THAT’S JUST WRONG!” is a love story about a predatory stalker (JOE CHRIST) who moves into the suburban Atlanta townhouse of his victim (pinup model LITTLE SEBASTIEN), making himself totally at home.  As things progress, the bizarre dynamic between the uninvited houseguest and his unwilling roommate swings back and forth, and things get kind of weird...no, make that really weird.  Before long, a relationship develops between the pair that takes Stockholm syndrome to new and hilarious extremes.  Horror author NANCY A COLLINS appears as an annoying door-to-door preacher, and world-renowned prostitute/author DOLORES FRENCH is seen as a sleazy bar-owner. One of the amusing special effects in “THAT’S JUST WRONG!” is the narrator: a bug-eyed, talking Boston Terrier who twitches and wise-cracks his way through the 75 minute flick.

Here's where the first few screenings will be:

Tuesday, September 6 - Fallout Lounge - Dallas TX

Thursday, September 8 - Southmore House - Houston TX

Saturday, September 10 - Deadtown Tavern - Tulsa OK

More details soon...

Oh man...I'd love to see it.

However, having an african american boyfriend, I don't set foot in Texas or Oklahoma.

Please, Joe Christ, come to beautiful Ann Arbor.

Reminds me of that song..."My boyfriend's black, now there's gonna be trouble, hey la hey la, my boyfriend's black"

Where would be a good place to show "That's Just Wrong!" in Ann Arbor? Basically, any place with a video projector (I'm screening it on DVD) and a decent sound system...bars, galleries, small theaters...

Well, most indie films go to the Michigan Theatre, but you might be more welcomed at The State theatre which is more college minded and not so snooty.

Hey you...how have you been? I meant to ask you before...is Cheryl still in Austin?

I'm not making it to Austin on this particular trip. I'm going out for a few dates at a time, about every 6 weeks or so. Where would you suggest doing it in Austin? See above reply for what I need...

All is well. Cheryl (now Annie- don't ask. I'd say it was a sex change operation if she weren't already female) moved back to Louisville a few months ago. Last time I heard from her she was planning on gettingt married in October to an old friend of ours.

As far as appropriate venues go, the Alamo Downtown would be good. They do real indy film shows frequently. Their format actually encourages Q and A with the film maker as well as retrospectives/double features or whatever you may have concocted. Seeing Doris Wishman hosting Secret Agent Double D several years ago was a high point for me.

You may consider contacting Pedazo Chunk International Headquarters. It's an indy video store run by Harry Knowles's sister and brother-in-law. They have a small screening area, but might work as a good sponsor. Google will get you to the website, and Harry K has a link to them on aintitcool.

Thanks for the hot tips...I'm coming through that general area again in late October (New Orleans, Houston, etc)...maybe I'll have something in Austin on that trip. If you talk to Cheryl, er, I mean Annie, tell her hello for me. Hope to see you soon.

Waiting to confirm the Atlanta premier date...I might have the cast come over to the crib for a private screening in the next week or so.
